Brittany Li
Intern Mental Health Therapist
As an Intern Mental Health Therapist, I strive to create a non-judgemental, validating space for individuals to explore their thoughts and emotions. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative relationship, which is why I approach therapy from a place of safety, curiosity, and honesty.
I am a certified Grief Recovery Specialist and am experienced working with individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one, an old way of life, or more. I use an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from therapeutic models that foster strength, acceptance, and change such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have worked with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, emotion dysregulation, ADHD, Autism, and trauma. The majority of my experience is with adolescents and young adults, but I welcome individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
My therapeutic perspective draws from feminism, multiculturalism and intersectionality. I am LGBTQ+, polyamory, and sex worker friendly and provide a non-judgemental environment for all of my clients using a client centered approach. As a BIPOC therapist, I am passionate about providing anti-oppressive, culturally-sensitive therapy for people who have experienced discrimination or racial trauma and have a special interest in working with Asian and Indigenous populations. I am a strong believer that your identity is inseparable from your experiences, and I am passionate about learning about my clients' stories so I can help them work towards their goals of change.
Brittany is currently offering in-person and online appointments.
Please note that online therapy is only available for individuals living within the province of Alberta.
