Zahra Domingo
M.Sc., Registered Psychologist, Clinical Director
I have been a practicing Registered Psychologist for 18 years, both within hospital and community settings. As Clincial Director at Edgar Psychological, I take great pride in training my team and delivering the best care I can to each client I treat. I hold a Master’s degree in Marital and Family Therapy and use a strength based, client centered approach to work collaboratively with clients. I believe that individuals are capable of making the changes they wish to make as well as to maintain these changes. I believe that sometimes we all need a little help and guidance during tough times and this is what I hope to assist those that I work with.
My therapeutic approach is informed by several evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), as well as Psychodynamic Therapy.
I provide treatment for, but not limited to, the following presenting issues: mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, relationship issues, emotional regulation, domestic violence, social skills and assertiveness training, children/adolescents behavior issues, problem solving/conflict resolution, self-worth, communication, life transitions, and stress management. I am also an approved Workshop Provider with the Government of Alberta for Early Childhood Services (ECS) and can offer child caregivers such as teachers, support staff, and childhood educators educational workshops to assist them in the work they do.
I welcome the opportunity to meet with you and work in partnership with you towards your goals and the areas you desire to make change.
