Kenda Cruikshank

M.C., Registered Psychologist

I am a Registered Psychologist with a Masters of Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University. I have 24 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and their families as a teacher, school counsellor, and psychologist. My schooling and experience provided the background to understanding individuals from a biopsychosocial lens within the different systems they function within (home, school, relationships, families).

I have experience working with a range of challenges, including anxiety, stress management, attachment issues, emotional regulation, depression, relationship challenges, stress, learning challenges, ADHD, self-harm, and emotional behavioral disorders. My approach is from an attachment, person-centred, trauma-informed lens using a variety of therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, solution-focused, narrative therapy, play-based, and bibliotherapy.

I offer counselling services for children, adolescents, and parent coaching. I am also able to offer assessments on a case-by-case basis to assist in understanding cognitive, learning, behavioural, or emotional challenges, and make recommendations to help improve functioning and how to best support children and adolescents. My approach to support is based on empathy, understanding, and compassion to empower individuals and families to thrive.
