Katelyn Bodnarek
M.C., Registered Provisional Psychologist
Welcome! I am a Provisional Psychologist passionate about guiding individuals through transformative journeys rooted in holistic well-being. My approach goes beyond addressing symptoms; it’s about embracing the intricate tapestry of your life story within a person-centred integrative framework that considers your mental, physical, emotional, cultural, and spiritual aspects. I believe that true healing begins with embracing the full spectrum of our humanity - imperfections and all.
I have gained extensive experience working in child protection services and with neurodiverse individuals with varying disabilities. I have additional experience in firefighting, family violence, and hospice care. These experiences have deepened my commitment to trauma-informed, harm-reduction practices, and I remain dedicated to maintaining a heart-centred approach in all the work I do.
I specialize in supporting individuals through a range of challenges, including life transitions, teenage difficulties, exploring gender or sexuality, managing substance use, anxiety, depression, living with disabilities, and exploring spiritual or existential concerns. I am particularly passionate about supporting first responders, trauma survivors, and individuals coping with grief and loss. My practice is rooted in allyship, compassion, and respect for every person’s unique experience.
When I’m not working, I enjoy walking my dog in the river valley, staying active with various sports, and spending quality time with my family and animals. At home, I unwind by playing video games, reading, researching psychology, or planning trips with my husband. These personal interests help keep me grounded and connected, which I believe is essential in creating an authentic therapeutic relationship with my clients.
Let’s work together toward your goals, where healing is not just a destination but a way of being. Every step forward you take is a testament to your strength and resilience.
