Lauren Terlecki
M.Ed., Registered Psychologist, Psychedelic Integration Therapist
I have a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Alberta, and have been working in private practice for the past eight years. I have also spent six years as a service provider for First Nations communities in Alberta, and have been honored to learn of their culture and worldviews while visiting as a guest on their territories. I strive to be an ally to folks of all sexualities and genders, and respectfully welcome clients of all cultures and spiritual beliefs.
As a psychologist, my stance is person-centered, collaborative, non-judgmental, and trauma-informed. I am informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Narrative therapy, somatic approaches, and attachment theory. My goal is to help you build behavioural flexibility, so that you are increasingly able to act in ways that align with your values, rather than rigidly re-cycling old patterns of behaviour.
In my life I have never been one to shy away from big emotions, or big questions. I am eternally curious about spirituality, transpersonal experiences, and phenomena beyond our current understanding of the world and the human mind. Additionally, I am aware that in many ways, the field of Psychology is yet in it’s infancy, and there are many frontiers left to explore. As such, I am excited to be joining the team at Edgar offering Psychedelic Integration Therapy. I am currently in the midst of a year-long training through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute to become a Certified Psychedelic Assisted Therapy Provider. I look forward to helping clients make sense out of what they experience on their psychedelic medicine journeys.
Lauren is offering psychedelic integration therapy online and in-person.
