Katherine Henderson

Registered Psychologist

As a Registered Psychologist since 2016, I’ve worked in a variety of clinical contexts including hospitals, private practice, primary care settings, traumatic psychological injury programs, and interdisciplinary outpatient programs.

Within these settings I have passionately served individuals facing a diversity of challenges including stress, relationship issues, trauma, depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, and life transitions. I take a relationally oriented approach to psychotherapy, recognizing that meaningful change is dependent on the quality of the therapeutic relationship and strive to create an atmosphere of safety, honestly, unconditional respect, and authenticity.

I hold certification as a Hakomi therapist (a mindfulness-based somatic therapy) with training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, ART, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Psychedelic-assisted Therapy. My curiosity lies in the intersection of psychedelics and somatic psychology. I believe that under the right conditions, expanded states of consciousness can help the psyche transgress embedded patterns of limitations and that these experiences can integrate into embodied individual and collective transformation.

I am currently pursuing a PhD at The California Institute of Integral Studies specializing in Integral and Transpersonal psychology where my focus has been on psychedelic studies.

I have experience and special interest in working with the first-responder community and am attuned to the unique challenges and opportunities that lie within this line of work.

Katherine is currently offering in-person and online appointments.

Please note that online therapy is only available for individuals living within the province of Alberta.
